To get this all only three steps needed.
(1) If you are not a 3 G customer than activate 3 G by Sending START 3 G to 121.
(2) After that with at least Rs.5 in your balance send JLTPI to 56666
(3) After getting confirmation message connect in 2 G mode then switch over to 3G.
i.e. Connect in GSM then switch to UMTS Thats all..
If you want to do the same in Modem,
(1) Go to Tools -- Options -- Network
(2) Then select GSM only and apply their itself.
(3) After you see 2G signal received like EDGE or GSM, select WCDMA preferred then press OK suddenly and connect.
